Lado Medallion circa eighties

From the finish, obviously originally from a hair farmers tool shed. Ahh those glorious days, when bands went out in quest of sponsorships from women's beauty products.

I bought this bass in the grunge nineties when pink instruments were in a wee bit of a bear market.

Actually a very well made bass by Joe Kovacic, kind of a Spector NS2 style. Alembic active PJ set, with the variable mid. You can get quite a variety of tones from this setup, but IMHO, it would be a bit nicer if the mid sweep had detents, so you could quickly reproduce favorite settings.

This shot is from after a flood in my shop, you can see the water damage by the control knobs. I later refinished this bass, underneath the err, umm, pink lacquer,  the whole thing is made of stunning flame maple.
