Lado Medallion circa late eighties.
A very early treat to myself , a boutiquie bass made by Joe Kovacic in
Toronto. This bass has a very "modern" sound and plays like a dream.
Somewhat sadly, the flawless lacquer finish has been ravaged by the
atmospheric punishment a hard working Ontario musician endures over the
seasons. This bass developed an odd "bacon frying" sound in the P
pickup, and I've been searching for a replacement for a long time. It's
a proprietary active Schaller pickup that Joe used, I tried to replace
it with an EMG, and the magic was gone. Any one that can offer any help
in getting this baby right back to spec, please contact me.
