"Warwick" fretless, my Ebay bass
This bass was built entirely out wood and parts purchased in auctions. I
had a desire to have a bass that would be more aggressive sounding then
my Fender Jazz fretless, so I searched Ebay for many months for a
fretless ebony board bass.
This Warwick bolt on NOS neck came up , it's
a 3 laminate wenge neck with a beautiful Ebony board. It came complete
with tuners and hardware. Next was the one piece Mahogany body blank,
and finally the rosewood top. Jim Krueger laminated the body woods
and did the routs. He's a master with that router, the neck
body rout was so bang on , you could hold the whole body up
by the neck , before it was bolted on ! I
based the body design on my BC Rich eagle. A Seymour Duncan MM active pickup
system completed my vision. This project turned out exactly as I hoped,
extending the palette of fretless sounds available to me considerably.
And it's just plain gorgeous. I 'll have to get a better
shot.
